Non-Executive Directors
As two of our current Non-Executive Directors reach the end of their tenures later this year, we are seeking to appoint to two exciting Non-Executive roles for our Unitary Board. These roles are exciting opportunities to share your talents to make a positive difference to the wellbeing of our communities and staff at a critical time.

Welcome to our Trust
We are delighted that you have expressed an interest in applying for one of these important and exciting Non-Executive Director roles here at The Rotherham NHS Foundation Trust.
We are a combined acute and community provider, delivering a range of healthcare services to people in Rotherham and across South Yorkshire. We are ambitious about our future, and the part that we will play in meeting the health and social care needs of our local community, and wider region. We are an innovative, integrated healthcare organisation which continues to develop at pace. We serve a diverse population of over 270,000 people in the Rotherham area, in impressive facilities at Rotherham Hospital, as well as community-based sites, and directly in patients’ homes.
Over the last six years we have transformed the organisation’s performance and confidence. We are proud of our culture which is open and empowering; all our patients, visitors and partners receive a warm and friendly welcome. Our staff are on a journey of continuous improvement in the services that we provide, and building a healthier future for our communities, some of whom are amongst the most deprived in the country. Like other health and care providers we face challenges as we recover our services as we emerge from the pandemic. We are finding new ways to collaborate as a key player in both the Rotherham Integrated Care Partnership, as well as the wider South Yorkshire Integrated Care System which is now established as a statutory body.
You will work with our Board and Council of Governors providing scrutiny, support, and challenge as we seek to transform our services for the future, through an approach that is centred around collaboration and continuous improvement.
We are keen to hear from values-based leaders who share our passion for improving health and care services in Rotherham and who bring Board level or equivalent experience gained in complex and changing environments. To complement our existing team, for one of the positions we are interested in hearing from nursing leaders with experience gained primarily in the acute sector, and for the second role we are interested in strategic leaders from either the private sector, third sector or wider public sector who offer experience in one or more of the following areas: digital leadership, legal expertise and/or partnership development. We welcome and encourage applications from candidates from Black, Asian, and Minority Ethnic backgrounds and value the lived experience of all Non-Executive Directors on our Board.
These rewarding and challenging roles offer a significant opportunity to bring your skills and experience to influence the future wellbeing of our patients, workforce, and our communities. If you are interested to find out more, please do read further on this microsite and contact our recruitment partners at GatenbySanderson: Carmel Bell, Niamh Blair, or Emma Pickup on 07917 826639 to discuss your interest.
I look forward to meeting you during the process.
